This is about loneliness.
The day is dressed in an English summer
The rain is making lone hearts heavy
Wondering where life had gone
Where happiness turned to desperation
And love evolved to longing dreams
The wind blows the cries of many
Broken hearted souls screaming
Dreaming or longing for better times
When loneliness seemed so far away
And love was something lived to share
Happiness was the start of another day
But rain drips down on darkened souls
And cold fingers clutch broken hearts
Sweaty palms and icy stairs
Piercing through the haunting faces
Walking down the cobblestone paths
On there way to another lonely night
Of empty thoughts and broken dreams
Looking for somewhere else to hide
Away from the chilly air and damp skies
Covered in menacing clouds
And lit with cracks of streaming lights
Across the forgotten heavens of the faithful
The damp roads lead the lost wanderers
To vacant buildings where yearning awaits
In candelit bedrooms empty for years
Where lovers once made love known
That bed is now made with out a flaw
Those sheets are dusty but put in place
The pillows firm and seemingly untouched
Dark dints placed where bed posts rest
And shadows jump across the empty room
As lighting crashes through the window
Curtains blow and drape the air
With frigid air peircing the atmosphere
But where have these once lovers gone
Where have those memories been hidden
They walk alone in the chilly nights
In the streets dressed in an English Summer
