in remembrance of the london bombing
The ticking of the hands drift by
Lazily counting the minutes away
Till the hand reaches twelve
Then the world holds its breath

The silence seems not enough
To hold the memories dear
Of lives that lost their precious hold
Of their spirits quest

My breath holds still, my eyes tight shut
A tear winds slowly down my cheek
I raise my head, defiantly
We will not go down without a fight

These are our streets, this is our land
I’ll take my neighbour by the hand
You cannot break the chain of hope
You cannot beat us down.
