Yeah, I'm bad with titles this week.
Drain me of my courage, void of any faith
Leave me with a gentle pool of venom in its place.
Bleed me softly, slowly, don't prolong the chase
Peel my eyes wide open so I can see my fall from grace
Shattered by an act of mercy, sugar-coated suicide
Ante up and play your hand, only you can decide
Keep floating on your words, they won't get you very far
Just remember that fate isn't always written in the stars
Trust your heart, not your head, just know when to tuck and run
Sometimes the war is over before a battle has begun
Don't stand upon your promises, stand behind them firm and strong
Dig your heels in, grit your teeth, and fight to stay were you belong
Sometimes words unspoken are the ones that hurt the most
Before you know it, your chance has passed, and before you stands a ghost
Don't look so hard for answers before the questions can be asked
Remember that the future is just one familiar past
