this is me, laid out plain and simple
words on a screen, nothing left to hold back
no hiding behind my words this time
just me...uninhibited
silently, to myself, i'm praying you won't read this
but i know you will, because i'll break down and tell you about it
i'm wishing i could return the favor and say something wonderfully

the auroral glow in the distance
i see it there in all it's glowing beauty, but i know i can never hold

can never touch it, never breathe it into my lungs
i can give it all i have to offer, but i know i can never expect
anything in return
your like some twisted metaphorical Alpha Centauri
close enough to see, but just out of reach
and sitting on the borderline of another black hole to pull myself
out of
