Love is more eaily confirmed in our unconcious moments than at any other time.
I carry the soft melody of your breath
The unconscious exhalations of sweet dreams
Passing thoughts briefly expressed
Through unfurrowing brows, or lips relaxed at the seams
I carry the impression of your right hand
Tightening its old possessive grip
Reaching for reassurance where palms may land
Like the anchor of a lost and troubled ship
Whatever contradictions this may bring
I love the slight- I love the obvious. . .
Unconsciously carrying signs that could mean
Reciprocation, however loosely interpreted
Years of declarations aside, rings bought, papers signed-
Mortgage-a house filled with such clear evidence. . .
These don't negate the hearts growing desire
To seek such signs as can be gained in rest.
