This is my first award-winning poem. I got first place in the contest with this.
Darkness falls, across the land.
The day dims, and blackens the sand
Darkness enslaves the tortured soul,
And slowly helps her prevail with the darkest goal.
The wolfs howl with every moon,
The soothing sounds of crickets and owls
Knowing it will be morning soon
I slip away into the shadows
The darkness sheds a blanket on my soul
And comforts my sorrow
Turning to the eyes of revenge
And all become gone
