About a guy who turned out to be wonderfully different than what he first appeared
I saw him on the football field
He played first-string receiver and quarter back
And second string everything
Not really tall, only 5’8”
He looked trim but was a deceiving 190

Also Captain of the varsity baseball team
He had straight A’s
He lifted everyday after school
And couched little tikes in athletics
For his job and for volunteer

I did know he noticed me
Until he took my hand
Told me I was beautiful
And I when blushed
He asked me to come over

That night we were on sofa
Watching people dance
Because they think they can
And he noticed how I watched the ballroom
Asked, “Do you like that?”

I nodded
Of course I did
I’ve must have been born way
After my time period for
I loved anything classical

He smiled and took my hand
And led me to his basement
In the middle of floor
He held out his hand
I shyly took it

And away we flew
He led me around the room
Gracefully with perfect posture
To the count of
1, 2, 3…1, 2, 3

With shock I looked upon him
And with his gentlemen’s smile
He asks what did you expect?
As he started to hum
A classical song

1, 2, 3…1, 2, 3
We turn and glide
I allow my self
To be swept away
As his hums turn into O’s

His voice so melodious
Strong and beautiful
1, 2, 3… Singing as we dance
I wonder where he came from
And I hope he’ll never go

Then we stop
He holds me close
And I rest my head
On the broad shoulder
Of this Renaissance man

And if looks were deceiving
I say not now
It all depended
On what my
Point of view was

And as our lips slowly
Near each other
I must say
That my point of view now
Is very good
