Review of Old Friends

The structure is great,
i enjoy reading poetry with a good rhyme to it, it gives the poem a beat as you read it and it helps me inparticular to decipher the meaning behind the poetry.
This poetry's meaning wasnt to hard to decipher and what it did show, share and give to us was the feeling that you were leaving old friends behind, to move on with your life.
now i feel a little silly because i am practically quoting your poem.
but the emotion gave it a good tug on the heart and made the stomach ache for the people or person who was leaving.

Again the beat your rhyming scheme has, i liked, at the beginning it almost seemed like a happy kind of beat but then as the emotion became deeper and the words became stronger did the rhyming give it a different affect, and i liked that, the subtle change... or what i would consider a subtle change

The ending in particular grabbed me, it really grabbed me how it was saying goodbye, but saying hello at the same time, it made me think about how beautiful a goodbye can really be. whether you know your going to see that person again in a few days or if you really are leaving for good! I liked how that grabbed me.

I really really enjoyed it :)

My opinion - I liked it, was interesting it drew me in from the start, i wanted to know why she wanted the food. so i continued reading and it just got better!
The ending was rather a shock, i still liked it though.

The part where she is chugging down the milk like its christmas, i did enjoy how you described it, because many of us have either not witnessed or never done that kind of thing, well i for one cant, i find it impossible to drink more then a cup of anything and even then mouthful at a time, or i feel bloated.
so i enjoyed the way you described that!

The history you gave for Kate and why she was possibly like this gave the story depth and as i like to call it a Third site... meaning that you gave it an extra side to consider!
