I think this piece has a wonderful use of visual imagery and descriptive language, however i think that you need to strengthen the plot(why did the orcs attack, et cetera). Also, a little more emotion thrown into the mix would be fun. Nice use of suspense, but you may want to consider putting a little humor in your work, just to give the audience a break and step back to really see what is going on. At times it almost seems as if the problem has no solution. I don't quite know the character enough to exactly call him the protagonist. Add depth to the characters and lay off the gore a little to give your writing more color.
