Hi... this is a nice song! I came across it while looking through the website content to see what other stuff is available (I'm a newbie here!).
I was following the lyrics while listening to the track on Soundcloud, and generally I found them easy to follow being a musician myself.
I thought that you have a nice tale being told here. The protagonist is stepping out on their own; a person who is finally having the courage to step out from 'the shadow' of someone who in many ways overpowered them. You get the sense of a dominant partner, big brother or sister etc. involved here, and the younger one finally decides to shine out on their own.
Musically the story and lyrics fit well with being a ballad, but my only tiny nit-picky crtiticism would be for the format and layout of the lyrics themselves. In some places I think you have split longer phrases out into shorter lines which have then wrapped around. This made tying the lyrics up with the music a bit harder, but as I say, I'm nit-picking so ignore me if you want!
All in all a good effort and thanks for taking the trouble of posting it up.
