Hadn't made a pot of pinto beans in years. Both my grandmother and my mom used to make them. My grandmother is deceased at 104 years and was quite a cook from Texas. Her Fried chicken won awards in our family. But, when they're gone they're gone. However, the memories do stay with you. Hence the pot of beans from scratch with all the S.W. fixings. Granny was the best at fried chicken. |
Watching and listening to an influence of mine...the late Leonard Cohen, a Canadian artist/poet. I really like his 1970s work because I haven't' heard anything else like him and just generally respect him. I released a tape in 1994 when people were still doing that kind of thing, quant. "Poetic License" to the critics who at least one really, liked it. My first release. Later I followed with several band projects in Portland and Seattle. Most of my music was not released, which may surprise those in the know. All I will really say about my musical efforts is, I think I was a really good and versatile songwriter considering what I had to work with which at times was limited by finances sadly. Thanks.. |
