Congrats on winning Prep!
I've added a new item to my portfolio:

The will of the Gods was hard to bend...

"The Ottoman occupation introduced into the Balkans the specialized kadis (judges) who were routinely influenced by false witnesses, fake evidence and most of all by customary bribery. Any Christian who accused a Turk was dismissed as unreliable. This created nightmarish situations when unhappy victims took the law in their own hands."

This inspired my short story, The Ransom.

Do you see a pattern here?

Stalker: A person who stealthily hunts or pursues another person.

As the second set of ratings never had a review, who knows, may be as the data gathers, the writing.com support would finally see a stalking pattern here...
What would you rather have? The Critics' Award or the Readers' Award?
"My Lord, should I have been responsible for something worthy of death, do as you please, for you are the best judge and in that case you would not be responsible for my death, but I alone." is attributed to a Hungarian ambassador in http://www.ithaca.edu/history/journal/papers/sp02dracula.html and to a Pole in McNally's and Florescu's book "In search of Dracula".

I went with the version of Ithaca College in my short story The Ambassador.
Writer's cramp is the most exciting contest I found on writing.com.I noticed though that the bolded "This means that grammatical errors WILL NOT be a determining factor in deciding the winner!". is simply not true. Most of my stories have been "disqualified" for grammar mistakes while praised for ideas and creativity.

This being said I am very grateful for the grammar and style hints, although I would really appreciate some examples so I can improve.
