Another section said this:
"Kristine Kathryn Rusch

New York Times bestselling author Kristine Kathryn Rusch writes in almost every genre. Generally, she uses her real name (Rusch) for most of her writing. Under that name, she publishes bestselling science fiction and fantasy, award-winning mysteries, acclaimed mainstream fiction, controversial nonfiction, and the occasional romance. Her novels have made bestseller lists around the world and her short fiction has appeared in eighteen best of the year collections. She has won more than twenty-five awards for her fiction, including the Hugo, Le Prix Imaginales, the Asimov’s Readers Choice award, and the Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine Readers Choice Award.

Publications from The Chicago Tribune to Booklist have included her Kris Nelscott mystery novels in their top-ten-best mystery novels of the year. The Nelscott books have received nominations for almost every award in the mystery field, including the best novel Edgar Award, and the Shamus Award.

She writes goofy romance novels as award-winner Kristine Grayson.

She also edits. Beginning with work at the innovative publishing company, Pulphouse, followed by her award-winning tenure at The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, she took fifteen years off before returning to editing with the original anthology series Fiction River, published by WMG Publishing. She acts as series editor with her husband, writer Dean Wesley Smith.

Further Comments...
The blog I mentioned above is www.kriswrites.com. I believe Kris and her husband, Dean Wesley Smith (I think I've reviewed a couple of his books here before, if you want to check my product review archives on Writing.Com) co-own WMG Publishers and they are two of the most prolific writers that I know of. They also make a great living off of their writing (their own and their publishing company combined, I imagine). I don't think I've seen a specific number for them but gather it's more than enough for them to live comfortably in a posh condo in Las Vegas.

I think I picked this book up for under five dollars (I own it) last year. I just got around to reading it finally and it didn't take long, because it's only one hundred and eight pages long. Another reason it was a quick read is because it's like having Kris talking to you (at least it was for me) as you read it.

I liked that she laid things out logically and shared personal stories about how she both messed up big time and also did very well with managing her personal finances and business finances.

I liked that she kept sections short and was generally concise so my mind didn't stray and I could focus on her message.

She talks about her money experience and gives advice learned over her long, successful career as a writer, editor, and publisher. She shoots straight and shares things I wish I had learned in high school.

While this is geared more for someone new to money and business management, I think her experiences make it worth a read for any writer in business for themselves.

If the current price of the book (prices vary on Amazon, as most people probably know) is prohibitive for you, I think she has this entire Freelancer's Guide available on her website. I'll go get the link for you.

I checked the first "Introduction" link and it worked. It's not as sleek as the Kindle version, but you can't beat free.

Though if you prefer a paper or Kindle copy and buy it through this review's link, it helps Writing.Com.

I rated this four for usefulness at first, because I already knew most of the factual stuff, but changed it to a five, because I think most people would find it useful. Even experts can probably glean a few tips from this book.
