Summary of this Book...
Glenn Plaskin put off getting a dog for many years. He was afraid of being able to take care of one properly. When he finally decides to take the plunge, he finds Katie, and despite what his upstairs neighbor tells him, he can't help but spoil her.

She soon makes her way down the hall, and into an older couple's life, who lives just a few doors down. Pearl and Arthur become Katie's second parents and even babysit her when Glenn, who's a celebrity journalist, has to work away from home.

Not long after, a father and his son move in and are quickly befriended by Katie. Katie and Ryan, the little boy, often had races up and down the hall, with Pearl as the referee. Ryan soon started staying with Pearl and Katie often, while his father worked, and became Ryan's surrogate "granny".

Kaite, the mischievous Cocker Spaniel, brought together this group of residents, who easily became a family. It's a group of people who needed each other coming together, and taking care of each other and Katie.

Together, they face many trials, including 9/11, as they live just a short distance from where the towers used to stand.

The reader is brought into their lives of over sixteen years. We experience their tribulations, joys, and heartache. But mostly we experience the love and connections that are made. And it all started with a little rascal of a dog bringing them together.
