I heard Brene Brown speak at an event not too long ago and loved her talk. I decided to check out some of her books and this was the first one I grabbed. I really liked it, although it felt a little too self-reflective for my tastes. There are a lot of anecdotes from her personal life which are fine, but felt like they overwhelmed the other parts of the book from time to time. This appears to be one of her earlier books, so I'm looking forward to checking out some of her later ones where she's developed more of her research and has more of a wealth of resources to draw upon. All that said, this isn't intended to be an overly critical review... it was still an excellent book with really, really good advice that a lot of us need to hear.
