This DVD is one I watched a long time ago. It is about a group of friends who plan a reunion on the 20th Anniversary of James Dean's death. They meet at the Woolworth's 5 and Dime, a chain of stores that was popular for a long time.

The friends have lived through a lot of changes that they haven't shared with each other and as they wait through the day, they each make a confession about the past and the present.

Shortly before he died, James Dean was in the town filming the movie, Giant and one of the friends had a bit part in the film. She also ended up with a son she named James Dean.

The cast in this is very good, especially Cher and Kathy Bates and Karen Black. Sandy Dennis overacts here as she usually did in films. It is directed by Robert Altman and was a stage play originally. There is a lot of overly dramatic, tear jerky stuff, but the humor is clever and so is the plot - ahead of its time I'd say.

I enjoyed watching it again, especially Cher's performance. She's awesome!
