Summary of this DVD...
This is the story of two wild cat oil men striking it rich and going bust. This is a vintage movie and it was a lot of fun. I am trying to watch a lot of Spencer Tracy's work and this is one of his best, along with Clark Gable as the other oilman. One of them marries the other's true love and that interferes with the friendship over the course of many ups and downs.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who is interested in pairings of Tracy and Gable.
I especially liked...
Spencer Tracy's performance.
I didn't like...
Heddy Lamarr. She is pretty, but not a good actress. Claudette Colbert is much better.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
watch more vintage movies that I got for Christmas.
I recommend this DVD because...
it is a great view into early Spencer Tracy comedies. He was much different then. It is like watching a different person from the one who emerged later on in life.
