Summary of this Book...
During the wanderings of Martin the Warrior, he finds himself passing through the lands of Verdauga of a Thousand Eyes. He is captured as a tresspasser and brought before Verdauga where after a lively debate he is thrown into the cells to cool his paws before he is released, unfortunatly for him the Kings evil daughter Tsarmina kills Verdauga that very night leaving Martin to rot in prison. After some time passes a theif named Gonff is captured as well and thrown into Martins cell, that night they excape and start a crusade with the resistance in Mossflower Country to rise up against the evil Tsarmina and her horde.
This type of Book is good for...
Young children through adults will love this book, especially people who like idealized medieval melodramas, like me.
I especially liked...
This is my favorite book of all time. You might be surprized to learn that all of the characters in this book are animals, but what is truely remarkable is that the brilliant author Brian Jacques (pronounced Jakes) doesn't let that fact make these books into a childrens series, instead the different animals allow the characters to become much more effective than if they had been human. This book has an amazingly different dynamic than anything else that I have ever read.
I didn't like...
umm *scratches head* the cover artwork?
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
This is one of those books that leaves you wanting more at the end.
This Book made me feel...
This book made me feel like I wanted to write my own stories in a similar fashion, it is the reason that I use so much imagery in my writing. It was the first and only book that I have read where I got truely intranced and was able to watch the images in my mind instead of reading the words.
The author of this Book...
Brian Jacques is one of my favorite writers of all time, he origionally wrote these books for a school for blind children. You can tell that he loves the world that he has invented.
I recommend this Book because...
It's the greatist book of all time.
I don't recommend this Book because...
If you read it in public you often get interrupted by people telling you how much they like this book.
Further Comments...
Read it, it's worth your time.
