Summary of this DVD...
Cat Stevens' 1977 US tour video footage has been found and put to great entertainment purpose. Can you dig it?

The DVD, entitled Majikat," has an awsome concert resurrected, and mastered into an incredibly awesome viewing experience. Including archival footage of other concert clips dating back to 1971, this LIVE FOOTAGE puts you right at the edge of the stage for your enjoyment.

Head swaying in purpose with his acoustic strumming and picking, and alight the black and whites of the grand piano of whicxh he is a master, this DVD brings back the Cat's 1970's fame. He "was a pop star then. She was in "C79."

Many of his songs speak of the price of love, and the need for knowing why we're here. He's "still having a good time," without being on the road again in a "jumbo plane."

All the big hits, and others with less radio play but more message, are included: "The Wind," "Moon Shadow", "Tuesday's Dead. . ." Included in the features of this DVD are unplugged options and comments about his songs, one about how the world would be a better place if everyone had an appreciation and love for Alfred Hitchcock and his chin. His personality comes through in this concet.

This DVD has one of a kind info, that inquiring minds should experience for themselves. If you missed out on the Cat before, check it out. Newbies welcome.

From the grill and grind of the concert, to the magicians in the "warm-up act", to the interviews and special cuts -- this is awesome. This is rock and roll in its teenage years.
This type of DVD is good for...
If you want to rock out to a great concert experience, circa 1976, but mastered so that you can even see broken string on his guitar when Cat gets into "Peace Train" -- this is it.

Also, if you know anything of the rather adverse publicity that Yusuf Islam has endured of late, with great love in his heart, and in his words and actions, this will show you where the man started, and how he has evolved. It's a good thing.
I especially liked...
"Where Do the Children Play?" has some great overlays of images. The mixing and mastering is 21st Century. MY favorite image from the DVD is Cat, with his guitar, dwelling amongst an electricty type tower. This is powerfully emotive stuff.
I didn't like...
I'm learning how to use a DVD player. I had to buy one to watch this. Learning all sorts of things makes life better, but it's hard. I'm still learning electronics. The problem is with the user, NOT the product, in this case!
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
Watch it again, write a letter to a politician, write a poem, write an editorial, rock out to the DVD some more. . . .
This DVD made me feel...
There is hope for another Peace Train. I'll be getting on board.
The cast of this DVD...
The cast includes Cat Stevens and the band, his originally drawn album art, the lyrics, discography, and a section of interviews with him today explaining the spiritual path he took when he left fame and forturne, pop star status, and the recording industry. Some credits for the concert include only five cameramen and two electricians. It takes much more to put on a concert today. This could be a history lesson that doesn't hurt. "Until I Got Hurt" is included.
I recommend this DVD because...
If you can remember the innocence of young love, or if you have it now, and believe in peace -- this is a grand celebration, and so right for it's 2004 release!

This belongs in your collection.

I consider it a must own - my peace of mind, 'ya know?

you're welcome to join in
I don't recommend this DVD because...
If you are not open minded to a person's right to make up his own mind about the way the world should be, challenge the status quo, find his own path to spirituality, you would not understand the transition that has happened in the last 30 years.

The music is catchy even before his eloquent yet simple philosophy of questioning life on planet earth catch your ear.

The songs are great, but they will make you think and feel. Some aren't up to that challenge.
