Joelle Sinclair, a fine art events planner, has left her lavish lifestyle and lascivious husband for her sister’s summer home in the Hamptons. When she gets there she finds a new job at the Oberlin art gallery and a new distraction-Jabari Mitchell, a partner of a prestigious local law firm. However, this distraction becomes an evocative enigma when Jabari turns out to be more than she bargained for. Will she allow herself to believe in love again or will she put herself in more danger with another man she thought she knew?

a summer read

Linda does is again wowing me every time with great stories, believable characters, and incredible sister wit. Kudos. This book has so many inviting and cool things that leave me wanting more even after I’ve read the last lines of the novella. As a fine artists who has displayed my work in a few posh galleries, I am thrilled that someone is writing about the behind the scenes world of fine art. Kudos again.

I did not give this book a five as I did with Bloom, because the ending of this novel was not as satisfying to me. I wanted Joelle to be more active in its end. With such a strong and sassy character I wanted her physical strength to come out, so I was a bit disappointed when it didn’t.

However, as I said before Linda is such a fantastic writer that I recommend everyone to get this book. Its short, sweet, and a tantalizing read. I felt like I was in the Hamptons myself and I love it when a book takes me to someplace I’ve never been.
