A poem/song I wrote in June, 2002, when my ex-boyfriend and I were breaking up.
I remember how you loved me
Like no one else has ever loved me before
I remember the words you told me
Sweet and flowing just like wine
I remember how you held me
And promised you'd never let me go
But most importantly
I remember you.

I remember all those sweet nights
Of laying in your arms
And making love so soft and tenderly
It was too good to be true
Now tonight I sleep alone
But I look forward to my dreams
For in my dreams, I know you'll be
And I'll remember you.

There was a time you told me
I would be the only one
No one would come before me
Our love would never end
But the end did come
And now we are just friends
But there's a part of me that longs for you
I remember you.

I remember the days
I remember the talks
I remember the tears
I remember our walks
I remember the laughter
And all the fights, too
But more than anything,
I remember you.
