First try at a rhyme since jr. high, about a woman doing dishes


Distracted Conventionality

A genetic memory. One meme,
suspended in a thick foggy steam.

Impetus, aged female face; wet,
shiny, slick dish.
Sexual history dripping sweat,
numb water wish.

Brave nymph whose blood divines she not fail
time wrinkled flesh, shimmer, bubble, sail!

Ego. Vivid masculine tension.
Absent 'y' pair
meat pruney, weaken chance ascension,
seep open care.

Crusted yellow yolk, sticky jam stain,
she scours and scrubs, frees both of pain.

Casserole caked pyrex, crusted bean.
Swim in soap. Sink.
Each life bearing piece ready, so clean,
replaces ink.
