A simple poem
A scream.
A shot in the dark.
Feet pounding on asphalt.
Panting.
Another scream.
Another shot.
A crash.
The pounding feet stop.
All is silent.
The murder is absorbed by the night.
The body is robbed and hidden.
The murderer escapes to kill again.
And the city sleeps.
And the world turns.
And life goes on obliviously.
