I guess I was a little angry and hurt when I wrote this one. :) I'm over it now.
Love's Remains


Silently it slithers through her veins, unnoticed, invisible, but deadly still the same.

Swiftly it strikes, punctures, venomous words poison the soul.
         
Bleeding heart, pain dripping from its wounds.

Cries of despair drowning in the red river.

Heated passion lights the final match.

Raging flames of unwanted desire burst through her inner core.

         Fearsome fangs and blazing tongue slowly, methodically devour the soul.

Fiery coils wrap around her in love's final embrace.

         Constricted, squeezed, tortured....

                             Nothing remains but the ashes of what was.
