This poem describes my exboyfriend who left me for his x girlfriend.
A Broken Heart Unmended

At work, he sat next to me,
Everyday he was the one I would look forward to see,
Because around him,
Myself I could be.
From one week to another,
We moved in together,
In love with each other,
I introduced him to my mother and father.
I was so excited,
My heart was lighted,
As if I were high,
Up in the sky.
I loved him so much,
Like I never loved anyone before,
Everyday I woke up next to him,
I loved him even more.
A love so unique,
Words can’t explain,
It was sad,
Because I thought he loved me the same.
Fight after fight,
Night after night,
I started to feel,
Something wasn’t right.
Somehow five years we managed to stay together,
He even told me he’d love me forever,
“One day, you will be my wife”, he said,
Now to me, he is dead.
He never forgot her,
That’s what he spoke,
When I found out,
I wanted to choke.
Now I am here with a heart unmended,
I can’t believe how he pretended,
I feel a part of me has died,
I resent him now because he lied.
My broken heart will heal in time,
It already sunk in my head,
He is no longer mine.
I am a great loss,
So very indispensable,
I am also not erasable.
Now that I see him,
I can see it in his crying eyes,
That soon, soon he will realize.
I offer some advice to all like him,
Losing a good woman is like losing a limb,
Appreciate your woman and plan a splendid plan,
And trust me, you will be a better man.
