This poem resulted from a dream that I had of an old love who passed away many years ago.
Mystical Moments

Last night, I saw you,
though it’s been many years,
taken back to a place in our past.

As you pulled me close,
my eyes filled with tears.
That small moment in time seemed so vast.

You wanted to tell me that you were still here,
watching over me day after day.
You’d been given a moment, so we could be near.
I have missed you, since you went away.

In a room, we stood there, together.
You touched me so full of desire.
Your hair, like the down of a feather,
And your eyes, they were brilliant, like fire.

You told me you loved me,
and remembered our kiss
on that rainy hot summer night.

I’ll admit, of that moment,
I still reminisce.
My heart soars,
It flies high, like a kite.

With your lips
You had promised to come back.
Oh, how I had begged you to stay.

You picked up your things
and a backpack,
said goodbye,
and in tears, rode away.

Still standing there, at that moment,
you were holding me, we were drawn.
My heart was then filled with torment
when you faded away and were gone.

I opened my eyes, and you were not there.
Still, that dream that we shared, I could feel.
Sometimes, things in life seem sadly unfair,
but those mystical moments were real.
