April's Tears

With spring flowers and rose bushes everywhere
A tender breeze carried their fragrance in the air

Lovely white lilies were showered by the soft rain
Butterflies would dance about to their own refrain

In the middle of the garden was a very large stone
Children climbed on it and wouldn’t leave it alone

A small white spot appeared emitting a sunny beam
All were very puzzled and wondered about the gleam

At first one child and then another followed behind
Parents wondered what the children happen to find

Eventually the children numbers began to grow
The children wouldn’t leave when told to do so

All the children were crying and touching the spot
Parents were getting angry and wanted it to stop

“I don’t see a Bird April, what Bird do you see?"
“It’s trapped in the rock Mommy, set it free for me.”

Another child said, “Don't you see the Bird Mommy?”
“Please make it free. Just believe Mommy believe!”

One of the older children took April by the hand
He told her the grownups no longer understand

They are too busy and forget to the hear the Word
They’ve turned their backs on the glory of the Bird

The Bird was tired and lonely trying to talk to them
He stopped flying and speaks only to the children

He knows they will listen and love Him tenderly
Children’s hearts are pure and hear Him honestly

Our world is such a sad place with very little love
Sadly we have forgotten the meaning of the Dove
