Omaukau Races

Omakau Races
We went to the Omaukau Races.
Jill, Jeff, Josie and Me.
We hope to win lots of money.
We will just have to wait and see.

The sky is overcast at the minute.
But the weather man promises more.
It is supposed to hit the high twenty's
Which mean's lots of drink for us all.

There's plenty of shade at the venue.
Such beautiful trees at the grounds.
There are tents and picnic tables.
And lots of people gathered around.

We have brought the Camper with us.
We have been given a beautiful site.
The fridge has everything in it.
We have worked hard at doing it right

Excitement is rampant about us
The roar of the crowd is so loud
I hope the horses perform today
And we go home rich and proud

I started the day with of a winner.
But went way down hill after that
Jeff has lost everything so far.
I hope he gets most of it back.

Josie is running even Stevens.
She is ever so tinny you know
I’m sure she will win in the finish.
It's my money she's using you know

Jill is trying so hard to win
She is betting five horses a time.
I don’t think she is doing to good
Her combinations are all out of line

Jeff's not won since he's been here.
Although he's been given hot tips.
Something must happen shortly.
There are only four races to go.
I hope he wins lots of money.
Or I will be shouting you know.

The races went by pretty quickly
None of us were doing to good
Except of course tinny Lizzie
I think I told you she would

Well it's been a beautiful day
The weather particularly fine
It's really good to all get together
To laugh to drink and to dine

We will come again next year
My daughter told me so
We will bring lots of goodies with us
