A thank you for the gift of a bottle of whisky
Christine
Christine gave me a bottle of whisky
To have on the heaphy track
It made my eyes all misty
It was a lovely thought I think

And made me feel very special
To think I needed a drink
It was not just an ordinary bottle you know
But the real expensive stuff

Twelve years old it said on the label
The blood in my veins started to glow
As I thought of taking the top off
My resistance was very low

But I fought off the strong desire
To sample the liquid within
As we wended our way up the Coast
To were my real journey was to begin

When I took that top off the bottle
I was very careful you know
To lick all around inside the cap
To waste a drop would not do

We started off pretty slowly
As we knew if we drank to fast
None would be left in the bottle
And we would be down and overcast

You will have guessed by now
I was sharing with Snow
As the nectar hit the spot
It wasn't the warmth of the whisky
It was the warmth of the thought of the thing
As we experienced a great deal of pleasure
From Christine's bottle of dreams

Christine is a lovely girl
Her mind is pure and sweet
Here mind is filled with lovely thoughts
Of what I like to drink
