FOREWORD

Vampires are real. This startling news came to me from an anonymous writer, who left this manuscript on my front step on a sunny day in 1596 New Era in the year of our lord, 3608. In it, he revealed many secrets relating vampires, government, and a mysterious agency known as SRFC (Supernatural Research and Funding Center), and how vampires were first made. This text revealed much, but left more in shadows. If I suddenly vanish, this document may shed light on what I will have become.

log 1
1386 NE (New era)
We started with a girl named Lucy. She had a terrible accident. The human doctors could do nothing for her at all. But our creators stepped into the picture. They told her they could give her old life back, but she would lose her memory of her rescuers. She agreed and they started work immediately. The operation was a success. But it was a prototype system, not yet functional. The bugs showed themselves at week two. Lucy stopped getting hungry and thirsty. She began to stay awake longer at night and sleep in the morning. And she changed in appearance. Her smile disappeared, she became a monster to her friends. She lost her soul. The story spread about a girl with no emotions or feelings.
Then the military showed up. They spread rumors that it was a government hoax to test America’s security. But the eight creators knew what had happened. On August 6, 1995, the mansion of the richest man in the world blew up. Among the dead were fifty military personnel, one rich man, and seven unknown entities. The seven were our creators. But one survived. She escaped along with Lucy. They made their way to a secure facility. The procedure was repeated. The problems, instead of leaving, increased. One year later, Lucy gave birth to a son, the first of us to do so. No one knew who the father was, or why she gave birth. But he grew too fast. He died at the age of seven. Then Lucy died from disease. The Doctor salvaged her genes from what was left. With them, they created us, a better, smarter, stronger, faster race of superhumans. There was one side effect: we needed blood to live. Our last creator sacrificed herself to help us live. She became a murderer. When she was caught, we waited, in slumber, for some one to open the doors to freedom. That day finally came.
