A short preface to a story I am working on.
I was running as fast as I could through a dark alley with a stench that almost made me lose my dinner.  No matter how hard I ran, the footsteps kept getting closer.  I looked over my shoulder trying to catch a glimpse of the man chasing me.  He appeared to be six foot seven and weighed two hundred fifty pounds.  I could not understand how a man that size could run faster than me.  I finally gave up.  I turned around to face my nemesis.  I stood in the dark watching the shadow getting closer to me.  I decided to attack first.  I ran full speed and tackled the masked man to the ground.  Then I started throwing punches rapidly at his face.  My punches did not faze him.  He smiled a Sadistic smile as if he was amused by my punches.  The large man threw me off of him and stood up.  He pulled out what appeared to be a gun and pointed at my head.
My cell phone began to vibrate before he could pull the trigger.  I think it broke his concentration because he lowered the gun and looked at the mobile phone on my hip.  My phone continued to vibrate and my assailant began to tap the barrel of the pistol on his hip as if he was waiting for me to answer it.  My phone stopped vibrating and the man dressed in all black began to shake his head.  He mumbled something incoherent before lifting the pistol, aiming at my head, and pulling the trigger.
My phone began to vibrate again awakening me from my sleep.  My chest rose and fell rapidly as the sweat poured down my face.
The same nightmare I had last night.
