Vampire fiction, It's my first, review honestly please.
The sun dipped below the fell on the horizon. I shivered at the sudden coldness. It was stupid, I know. Running away like that. I made myself the target. Well, better me than an innocent, I suppose. Five figures appeared on top of the hill, just before the light faded. All that was visible was their hungry red eyes, thirsting for blood. My blood. They started forward. Running faster than any animal. I got into a defensive position. I couldn't run any more. It would only take them two minuets to reach me. Unzipping my coat, goose bumps appeared over my exposed skin as the cold night air flowed around me. My left hand grasped a very familiar handle and trigger, in my back left pocket of my trousers. My right flew up and over my right shoulder grasping another handle. That of my hidden Katana strapped to my back. I could not miss, not this time. This was life and death, not practice. I could see them now. They circled around me. With no chance of escape I would have to fight.

“Your making a huge mistake” I declared knowing that I was the only one making mistakes. “I know what you are and how to destroy you”

“Oh really?” Asked the leader mocking me. His voice was deep and entrancing. “Who taught you? A little defensive school?” He snorted, I got ready to withdraw my weapons “Oh no, do you think we upset her?” He asked his followers, they just laughed. He stepped towards me. I didn't flinch. The creature walked gracefully but demoniacally. His floor length black coat outlined his slim muscular figure, leather pants clung to his legs and black shirt only buttoned half way up. He was so close now I could feel his breath. I didn't move. He wouldn't attack me, that's not his job. He ran his fingers through my hair and down my cheek. He held my right arm in place and tilted my head to the left asking “What am I?” The word burned in my throat. He pressed his mouth to my neck.

“Vampire” I said with disdain. I drew my gun and pressed it into his side quicker than I could blink.

“Your toys cant hurt me” He chuckled

“Oh wont it?” I challenged aiming at another vampire and shot. The demonic angel in front of me lifted his head in surprise and hissed, his lips drawing back exposing his fangs. His follower had a hole as big as a basket ball in his chest. His clothes fell to the ground as he turned to dust.

“I see, not your standard bullets, who gave them to you?”

“Its a homemade recipe, I knew your kind would like it” He snarled and pressed his lips to my neck again. I felt the need to get away. He drew a line from the bottom of my neck to the back of my ear with his tongue. I cringed slightly.

“What is your name?” He asked

“What is yours?”

“Ahh, a stubborn one I hold, I am Kaien, and you are?

“Yuuki” Kaien let me go. He took the gun out of my left hand, knelt down kissed my knuckles, as if he were a knight in love with his lady. He inhaled deeply, savouring the smell and replaced the gun as he got up. He withdrew slowly, the fight would begin as soon as he left the circle. I drew my Katana. The last three vampires moved in. As soon as Kaien had left the remaining vampires all pounced at once. We all moved so fast, to an innocent it would look like we were dancing. The sound of steel on teeth, and steel on rock hard skin echoed through my ears. I occasionally used my gun, nicking their arms and legs. But I was weakening. I had never used all my strength and speed in a fight like today. I heard a distant chuckle from Kaien. He could see me struggling. The attacking, blood thirsty vampires pushed me towards a nearby forest. My back hit a tree and that was it. They had cornered me. My legs gave way and I sank into the roots of the tree.
The three vampires grinned widely baring their fangs. I could just see them. My vision was fading. I felt someone scoop me up off the floor. The vampires hissed and growled.

“Yuuki? Yuuki can you hear me? Are you okay?” asked a familiar and the most angelic voice.

“Al? What are you doing here?” I asked weakly

“Hold still for a moment” He commanded, I couldn't move anyway. A low growl escaped his lips. “Poison” he muttered. Even with my senses dulled, I heard Kaien laugh. Al missed it. “Who?” he demanded.

“Kaien” I whispered “Tree”. Three things happened at once. A piercing pain exploded within me as a set of teeth sunk into my neck. My senses came back almost immediately, and Kaien growled threateningly. I realised that Al had bitten me, more than that, he sucked the poison out. He too was a vampire. The only one i dared to trust. I opened my eyes slowly, finding his golden ones staring back with concern. I reached up to his face. Even in the dark I could see his perfect features. His darkly circled eyes, his pale skin, his dark lips, his 'shaggy-styled' hair. He put me down on my feet. I wobbled slightly but remained standing.

“You sure your alright?” He asked. I raised an eyebrow and quickly shot another unsuspecting vampire. I smiled and Kaien hissed again. He jumped down from the tree and moved to us in a flash. Al pulled me behind him and the last two vampires retreated behind Kaien.

“And you are?” Kaien hissed at Al.

“You don't need to know, why are you here?”

“Another stubborn one” Kaien sighed “Very well, we were out hunting when a particularly appetising smell crossed our path” He indicated to me “She made the mistake of running and attracting our attention” He smiled at me and Al hissed, hiding me from view. “How can you stand to be so close and not devour her? Why do you protect her?”

“I am here of my own accord, and my reason to protect her is my own, now leave” His last two words were an order. Kaien growled and backed up. Al walked forward leaving me by the tree as he followed them. I was suddenly grabbed around the waist and pulled through the trees, further into the forest. I glanced into the eyes of my captor and saw glowing red eyes staring back. Kaien, I thought immediately. I could hear Al fighting the others. I went to shoot Kaien but found I couldn't. He had made sure to pin my arms to my sides. Strangely I felt safe with him. I tried a different approach.

“Kaien” I said softly “What are you doing? What do you hope to gain?”

“You, if I cant have you then neither can he”

“So, what? Your going to kill me and then what? Fight Al and die?” I retorted

“At least we would go to hell together” Ignoring this I pondered over what had happened. The word just slipped out.

“Pure-blood” Kaien's head snapped up. He looked at me in slight shock. “That's it isn't it, your a pure-blood, how else could you defy Al?” Kaien's eyes widened for a second and then went back to a cold stare.

“How do you know about pure-bloods? No mortal should know”

“Indeed, no mortal should know about your existence either, yet I know and fight” Kaien scowled.

“Have you mentioned Pure-bloods to anyone else?” He asked

“Only Al, when we first met he told me about them, and never to go near one if I could help it” I added smirking

“Good, never mention it again, for you to know is punishable by death” My smirk faltered and vanished.

“I thought you were going to kill me anyway” I said coldly

“Not yet” Kaien said quietly

“Why?” I could see that my question got him thinking.

“I don't know” He mumbled so I could hardly hear him “You intrigue me, for a start you didn't die from that poison, you know about Pure-bloods, you are able to kill vampires, and you smell incredible, I want to know who and what you are” I blushed slightly. He seemed truly interested in me. I could see how this was a good thing, I might stay alive longer, and how it was a bad thing, he was going to pry into my life which meant he expected to see me again.

“It sounds like Al has finished, I think you should leave” I suggested, hoping he would agree.

“Not until I make you mine” He smiled

“What-” before I could finish me grabbed my right hand and raised it to his mouth. Piercing pain shot through me again. But this time if felt like my blood was boiling. I screamed.

“The pain will leave, you shouldn't die, but now you are mine, no one else can claim you, even 'Al' can't” He put me down on the now moist grass and started to walked away. I tried to focus on him as I aimed my gun. He turned as I squeezed the trigger. I couldn't see if I had hit him but a faint stench of blood confirmed that I had at least injured him before I blacked out.
