Anapestic tetrameter: About the war in Iraq.

Oh, the flowers are blooming in summer today,
But our soldiers are dying in lands far away.

They are sending them over the young and the old,
To cut down Al-Qaida, least that’s what we are told.

Oh, how many more lives will be lost to this war?
Already too many have fallen that’s for sure.

We are hoping it’s quite soon, our daughter is there,
God bless all our soldiers; we trust them to God’s care.
