Just a continuing poem for my father.
Could you really not care?
I bet you don’t even know
how old I am.
I have grown up
and you missed it all.
It’s been three years
and that’s a long time to me.
You missed my sweet sixteen.
Then again, I don’t think
I would have spoken to you
anyway. This is just a
pointless cycle.
So I’m done running
around. I don’t need you.
