This poem compares life to a journey......
Life: A Journey

Life's a journey
That you choose to make
You start off, priorities set
Prepared for anything on the way.

You walk up and down the hills
Through the lush green fields
The sand dunes, the thick canopy of trees.

You pass through
The biting cold, the pleasant zephyrs
The scorching sun, the roaring thunder.

You experience various emotions
Sometimes want to walk alone
Sometimes want company.
Joy, anger, sorrow, jealousy
Tears, laughter, irritation, worry.

You make choices:
The road to take, the people to trust
Forced to give up some for gaining some
Forced to leave the loved to go on.

Full of surprises
Good and bad, beautiful and ugly.
Every moment's unique
Teaching you something new.

Passion drives you forward
Past the mighty obstacles.
At last, you get there
Where you've always wished to be.
The true reward's
Not money, not fame
But wisdom.
Throughout the journey
You witness the good, the bad
By the end
You've wisdom
To distinguish between them.
