A personal poem.
If I could just breathe

Close my eyes and slowly inhale

Feed on the life and promise it could provide

To calm and quiet my anxious mind

As the stress would slowly loosen its grip

If I could just breathe

Only for the moment to stop the trembling

Exhale all the negativity that speaks lies to my heart

Clearing the chaos so I could see a fresh start

Such a simple thing taken for granted

If I could just breathe

And live in the moment

With no worries of past yesterday's or future tomorrow's

Forget all the "what if's" and burdening sorrows

In that instance, everything would be alright

If I could just breathe
