Poem, standing on the beach, wondering
I dig my toes into the sand,
It’s like being on water but still on land.
The sand feels so soft, so wet, so warm
I wonder if it soon will storm.

I see the seagulls flying by,
They go down to the sea, then fly up to the sky.
Wings outstretched and beating strong,
I wonder if they hear a song.

I reach my hand down for a shell,
It’s full of sand and shaped like a bell.
Listen close, inside the sound of the ocean,
I wonder why I feel this emotion.

I lay down to feel the water’s tide,
On top of the water, it seems I can glide.
It makes me wish I was on a boat,
I wonder how long I can float.
