He said, She Said, They said. They are always the worst...
They said it was terminal;
Terminal like a Subway station at 3 am.
They said it was not “The End”;
Although it must have felt like the beginning of a book without numbered pages.

They said it was treatable;
Treatable like a trick on All Hallows Eve.
They said it was removable;
Although it must have felt like a huge ancient stone in a wide flowing river.

They said it was aggressive;
Aggressive like Mike Tyson in a half hidden whore house.
They said it was isolated;
Although it must have felt like dust blowing through a fresh empty clean room.

They said it was beatable;
Beatable like a card shark in Vegas with 4 drinks in his belly.
They said it was curable;
Although it must have felt like a cold without chicken soup.

They said it was cancer
Cancer like a brick dropped from a high rise apartment building at high noon.
They said it was “OK” to get a second opinion;
Although any other opinion was secondary from the facts.

They said it was time to go and we went on our merry way.
Here’s a referral for Chemo, make sure you call them today.
They said it could be fatal, but then again, maybe not
They said and they said and they said; not alot.

They said he’s a fighter, put your faith in your love;
But for once in my life I’ll put my faith up above.
Dear god wont you spare him he’s close to a Saint.
Religious I may not be, by faithless I aint…
