A few things I've experienced over the last few years that I have put into a short story
The story begins about 4 years ago when I was living with my father. I was only 15 years old. Things were pretty tough. I was living in a divided family. My dad had been remarried after being divored for 6 years. They had been married for about 6 years and things weren't all they seemed to be when the marriage had first begun. Me and my step-mother did not get along and her 5 children did not like me. It was hard. I was starting high school and had no family to stand by me in my begining of a new found "adulthood."
Because of the marriage, I had a sister who was the same age as me! We never really talked or even got along for that matter. I hated it. All I wanted was a friend within the family. Luckily, when school started, we became close friends due to the fact that almost all of our classes were the same but in about the middle of the year, things changed and not nessecarily for the better. I met a boy and she found someone to take on the best friend role. Thats when we fell apart.
After, 1 year long relationship and some family problems, I decided to sepina my father and step-mother so that I could move to my mothers house 200 miles away due to the division in my fathers house.
The sepina wasn't because I didn't like my step-family,but because my own father and step-mother played the favoritism game. It was a bunch of little things that made me feel unloved and out of place. My step-mom made sure that all of her kids had a bed to sleep on and I, "the step-child" had to sleep on the floor. I tried for the couch but she said no and anytime I tried, I was grounded. Then there was the issue with clothes. All of my brothers and sisters were aloud to shop at stores like Abercrombie & Fitch and American Eagle, as where I had to shop at Value Village and Goodwill.
So, at age 16, after a dreadful fight with my father and step-mother, I left. But before I left, I had to know that my relationship with my first long time boyfriend would last, so I gave him my virginity. And then there I was, leaving behind my boyfriend of 1 year, who was also my best friend, and my family, to begin a new life that would hopefully be better then the previous one....
It started out kinda rocky. Being the new girl that moved to a small town half through high school when all the "high school cliques" had been decided wasn't easy. It was difficult to make new friends but I had started my first high school job and made some friends there. So it wasn't too bad. I did meet a girl who ended up being my best friend. Thats when the even worse drama began.
