Dared to Kiss You
Dared To Kiss You

Saikat Basu

Dared to kiss you, in the middle of the night,
When I was a boy of sixteen,
I fell in the ocean of joy,
Because I was not afraid of following my instinct.
People told me that you are a novice,
You have not even seen or perceived it,
I realized that cherishing your dream
Even in the darkness when there is no hope of sunshine,
Is known as living; you better know it.
Folks roared and uttered those priceless words,
Don't follow the illusion,
There is no end except dead end,
It's an illusion that seizes your motion
I said Illusion is and will always be an illusion,
Till you unravel the truth;
Till you know it's an illusion,
Nobody is undisputed; nobody is unbeaten,
Life is the only lesson you can learn
When your voyage is over;
When you are already through and gone,
Fearless are those who dare to seize the day,
Beholding the light; snatching it from the sun
Roasting and burning in the middle of the sky,
Without hiding their scars and carrying
Their unforgettable wounds and green burns
Priceless are those; who dare
To inhale the excitement of uncertainty,
Even in the middle of the ocean
Who dare to fall in love; with themselves
With life and with life's ruthless frown.
