Experience is all he has!
THE SAILOR
Saikat Basu

My ship is sailing in the middle of the sea,
I am the sailor, who have experienced the thrill,
Spine chilling wind has touched my bone,
Until my soul, become devastatingly alone.
It is a wrecked ship, who stands the storm,
Denying all the possibilities of becoming moan,
Amidst all the curse and burn,
Fighting for a cause alone.

Me and my ship was going strong,
Breathing in fresh air, till thy dark cloud proves us wrong,
It was you and I, looking for a place to breathe,
To let ourselves fly and to be free,
You were the one, who said I could fly,
You were the one, who made me feel, I should try,
I tried my best to protect your smile,
To materialize those dreams; sleeping in your eyes.
You looked into my eyes and told me to promise,
That I should not cry, still you go away, till the dawn rise,
Yes, I saw faith in your eyes and warm assurances,
Because I was high on your love, I tried to hold you high.

Then the thunder strike and the dark cloud roar,
In the middle of the ocean, our ship starts to roll,
I knew the time has come to hold you tight,
To fight for a cause and to fight for my life.
However, the wind was so strong that it makes me numb,
It takes you away from me, turning me into mere lump,
I was standing there, half-drenched and half-torn,
Falling apart and was shattered before my own fate’s frown.

You disappeared behind the dark blue sky
Leaving me with my wrecked ship alone,
I have not cried a single drop, not even moaned,
Because I had already you in me, nurtured, flourished and grown.
