God Said To Me

God said to me
Let me stand beside you
To guide you

I said to god
Yes God please stand beside me
I need your guidence lord

God said to me
Let me hold your hand
To help you through
The rough and wet sand of life

I said to God
Yes God hold my hand
For you are my lord
I need your hand to hold

God said to me
Let me be your rock
Your salvation
And the light of your life

I said to god
Why should you be my salvation
Why should you be the light of my life
when my salvation rests upon me
and when the light of the sun shines down upon me
Warming my heart and warming my soul

God said to me
Your salvation does not rest upon you
It rests with in me
But it does depend upon you letting me live through you
Lighting your heart with my words
With my guidence

I said to God
Yes lord you have my salvation
You are the light of my life
I shall never question you again

God said to me
Thank you my child
Know that your heart
your soul
And faith rest with in me
I will never steer you wrong

I will be the light that guides you
And maybe even surprises you
Know now my child that you are blessed

For being there
For being the rock I need
