I can't explain where this hurt came from but it's here in this poem now
With the ones who lie in wait
Your eyes fix upon the opening door
To stand face to face with fate
Awaiting the emanate horror

The creek of the door
Drowning out the image
Expecting to hear feet hit the floor
Time to search for your courage

But you're cornered within the darkness
As the door swings open wide
Escape attempts prove aimless
There's nowhere left to hide

You keep your eyes closed tight
To shut out the inevitable
Attempt to believe it will be alright
For your tears are unacceptable

With rage they strike
Innocence ripped from your hands
Demons and angles alike
You comply with both commands

For so long they have tortured
Now left so badly broken
"So long I've already endured"
Your last words so softly spoken
