Here's to the last straw.
And thought it was changing, twas not for the better
I tried to explain it, once, in a brief letter
but it grew, how it grew! spanning line after line
and in between each I would try to define
What I was thinking, what I was feeling
the creaks in the floorboards and cracks in the ceiling
The things that I do that you don't ever see
but I'm sure you'd grow conscious eventually
If I left

As I went on my convictions grew stronger
I quit holding back as my letter grew longer
My thoughts became deeper, my words became colder
I wrote with the wisdom of someone much older
Someone who's seen the injustice of time
Who's been on the opposite end of this crime
But alas, I'm a child filled with scorn and with hate
and i feel you have coming this terrible fate
So goodbye...

Goodbye to the good times, goodbye to the bad
To the triumphs and troubles we've certainly had
'You win some, you lose some' the standing will say
as those who have fallen will rust and decay
Well I'm down on my knees but I know the solution
These words have all led to my final conclusion
The truth is that I don't want to see you again
And it's not a position I'd care to defend
This is it

I never loved you but I'll always miss you
