About how people hide their true selves from the world
She's walking hands covering her face
Tryin' tryin' to see inside
Where only time and patients can reveal the landscape beneath
Lyin' to herself
so of course she's lyin' to me
Her mirror's distorted
She thinks she's anorexic
Aborted her baby
at the house of a stranger
waiting to be close
Waiting for trust and bliss
Which she'd never find for truth
Because she ain't even valid to herself
She denies the picture provided by the projector
The moonlight reflection of the water
And ignores her dashing white knights
zooming on in and past her
Men marching past her
Claiming women like Vasco de Gama
The type of girl that satellites stop to take a shot at
All cameras are on her
They take their photos for memories
draining pints of blood
She's as pure as a lamb
So many waiting in line to slay
Gorgeous calf
Why not today?
Wipe the blood on the door frames
Do not harm her
She's oh-so-fragile
Don't break her warped image
Just keep your mouth shut
Tongue clamped between your teeth
Don't walk up and uncover the truth
like the body of a dead lover
