A sonnet..

Penitent

She offered freely from the loving cup.
I took a modest sip of what she held.
She proffered lust and manly I partook.
Much too late now to cease- my flaws excelled.

The memories I now hold tight within
are ravaged by the endless sands of time.
I never really thought of it as sin
to take from one I knew could not be mine.

And now I roam around in search of peace.
The more I seek, it seems the less I find.
What can I do to still the restless beast
that treads the tangled jungle of my mind?

So much I have to do to be guilt free.
So many wrongs I have to remedy.
