Follows my progression from elementary school to the future, after college.
Holding up my banner,
showing what I've become.
Pushing onward for more,
seeing what's been before.

Started out in school,
guess I was alright
(besides a hatred for math).

Made it up to the middle,
proved book worms could make it
higher up the ladder--
I owned that place
(atleast the library).

High school brought up some "phases"
Hot Topic as the main one-
"Am I goth? Punk? Or am I emo today?"

It eventually evened out,
ending on a smooth note:
"I'm Glad To Graduate!"

Moved back to the middle,
this time, of Tennessee
to learn about myself,
life,
oh- and my major.
Eating at a cafeteria,
Walmart runs a lot,
eventually moved along from those.

Now I'm involved and just try to not drop classes.

Finally making friend,
true ones at that,
I'm figuring life out,
wearing many hats.

To study for that test,
read ahead for that class,
make up the bed,
should I eat here or that?

So it's getting time to move on,
a job and some good wine,
set up some sort of life,
completely my own line.

I've got 18 months
and then I'm done
so it's time to buckle down
(but still let fun around).

I think I like my current state.
