Broken promises and real needs...
Red light runners
Safety island refugee
Action blurred like slow-speed film
Chemical or pixels ends the same

Scared silent so words won’t come
No superman appears
No phone booths anymore
Squeals climb the scale

You’ll come I know you will
I know I know I know I know I know
The mantra swirls and dips
A balloon on a cartoon character

Your world does not cross state lines
Or safety islands
Make myself smaller but I don’t disappear
Exposed terror horror you’re not here

You never promised I only needed
I won’t move and they’ll whiz by
But you’ll be here not too late
You’ll be here, not too late?
