another love poem.
Another Love
By: J. Leininger

I have found another beauty
But another beauty taken
This always seems to happen
Someone tell me why.

Why can’t I meet
The woman of my dreams
And have her be real
To touch, to see, to feel.

Love is not something
That one should rush into.
It causes nothing but pain
Grief, and sorrow, and angst.

So why is it I constantly feel
So strong about the people I know.
Can feelings get much stronger?
I’m just beginning to think so.

What does it feel like to truly be
In love with someone.
And not just lust
Would someone please tell me?

Do you feel warm inside?
Do you think about them all the time?
Do you get Goosebumps when they touch you?
Or run her fingers through your hair?

Does she move you
Without doing anything at all?
When you kiss, do you see
Fireworks like on the 4th?

Do you feel guilty when talking
To another lady?
Find yourself choosing your
Words quite carefully?

Does she make you wonder why
You fell in love with her that time?
Or tell you to “Let’s just be friends”
When you’re about to ask her to marry you?

Do you get butterflies in your tummy
When you talk to her on the phone?
Does her voice make you twitch
With its quiet, beautiful tone?

What is it like to be in love?
Why can’t I find the woman for me?
Where is she now and what’s she doing?
Please, oh please, let her soon meet me!
