This poem is about my journey as a teenage girl.
I'm falling, falling, falling
And I can't stop
I've hit the ground hard
And I can't get up

I'm trying to loosen
Theses ties on my hands
But something is keeping me
Eternally bound

I try to awaken
From a dark, dreary sleep
But somehing is holding me
Keeping me

All of the sudden I stop
And I think
What's holding me back is no mystery
What's holding me back is simply just me

What if I put out my feet?
When I hit the ground, I won't be hurt
The knife in my pocket
Can cut the ties
I can free myself
By opening my eyes
And staring into the dark brown ones
Looking back at me
